Beschreibung

The future holder of the post is expected to have a high international reputation in research covering the area of technical thermodynamics. Future research activities should focus on mathematical modeling across scales and experimental studies of irreversible thermodynamic processes.

In the area of academic education, the KIT Department of Mechanical Engineering expects the person to be appointed to be involved in undergraduate courses on technical thermodynamics held in both German and English. Research-oriented courses on irreversible thermodynamics should complement academic education activities. You will execute university tasks with a teaching obligation of 9 hours per week per semester.

The future holder of the post should be willing to actively acquire third-party funding, to participate in research projects of KIT, and to engage in academic bodies of the KIT Department of Mechanical Engineering and Division III – Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Research and teaching activities should be complemented by the transfer of methods and findings to industrial application.

Persönliche Qualifikation

The applicant should have earned an outstanding doctoral degree and be known for excellent publications and project expertise. The future holder of the post will have access to the attractive research environment at KIT, including a variety of networking opportunities.

Employment is subject to Article 14, par. 2 of the KIT Act in conjunction with Article 47 LHG Baden-Württemberg (Act of Baden-Württemberg on Universities and Colleges, Landeshochschulgesetz).
