Beschreibung

Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), also known as Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), is a powerful spectroscopic technique in various scientific fields. EPR enables studying unpaired electrons' behavior in molecules and materials, providing valuable insights into their structure and properties. This non-destructive technique is essential in chemistry, biology, and physics. In IMT, we aspire to revolutionize the MR (magnetic resonance) landscape by developing cutting-edge technology that enhances sensitivity, resolution, and applicability, paving the way for discoveries in fields ranging from materials science to biomedical research.

This project aims to discover the possibility of a portable EPR spectroscopy device. The main task is to design a Ku-band micro-resonator as an EPR detector using PCB or LIGA fabrication technology. Your tasks include:
1) Model, design, and optimize an EPR detector (based on COMSOL, CST, or HFSS)
2) Participate in rapid prototyping (PCB fabrication/ Laser fabrication/ LIGA fabrication)
3) Characterization of microresonator
4) Assemble and perform EPR spectroscopy

Your work will leverage the state-of-the-art infrastructure available at the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT), including microfabrication facilities, advanced characterization equipment, and laser milling equipment. This project presents a unique opportunity to design, produce, and evaluate devices, potentially leading to co-authorship in conference presentations and journal publications.
