Beschreibung

In our research group in the Institute for Microstructure Technology (IMT), we focus on the on the developing of the novel approaches for NMR, which is powerful analytical technique that uses the magnetic properties of selected atomic nuclei (i.e. 1H, 13C, 15N, 19F) to investigate molecular structures and the dynamics of processes. In our research group, we develop novel approaches for RASER (Radio-frequency Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation), which is an innovative signal enhancement technique in magnetic resonance.

Your tasks:
- fabrication LC circuits for resonators at low magnetic field (1µT - 10mT);
- development of the electrical circuits;
- signal processing;
- design and fabrication of components with machining or additive manufacturing;
- NMR spectroscopy and MRI at low magnetic field.

Desired skills:
- soldering, electrical circuits fabrication;
- circuit designing (EasyEDA, Eagle, etc.);
- basic programming skills (Matlab, Python);
- CAD modeling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.);
- good communication skills in English or German (German is a plus, but not required).

Bonus Skills:
- knowledge about magnetic resonance and spin dynamics;
- knowledge about non-liner systems;
- interest in interdisciplinary studies between physics, electrical engineering, chemistry and biology.

We offer:
- work up to 40 hours per month (4-month contract, extension possible with increase of work hours up to 80h);
- work independently, partially remotely and flexibly on your tasks.

Starting period of the position: As soon as possible

Long-term prospects: Minimum term of 4 months; further extensions are possible and preferred. Possible extension to a Master Thesis project.

Application requirements: Apply with CV and your latest transcript of records and with the subject line “HiWi: EE RASER”. Note that incomplete applications will not be processed.
