Description
We are looking for a quantitative student analyst to join our growing plastic recycling analytics team in Karlsruhe (Germany).
Plastics recycling is one of the core sustainability areas of European industry and is already taking place to a significant extend. ICIS is at the forefront of reporting and analysing the market dynamics and holds probably the best dataset in the industry. The relevant players are our customers and ICIS analysts are respected experts in these markets. In Karlsruhe we focus on quantitative analysis, modelling and data science.You will help us improving existing and developing new price forecasting models for plastic recycling commodities. You will work on your own project, develop your own ideas and contribute significantly to our products. You work together with our experienced analyst team to receive support and have challenging discussions.Join an experienced and fast-growing team to contribute to an improved development of plastics recycling.Main responsibilities Understand, discuss and improve modelling concepts of recycled plastics markets
Program new price models and integrate data flows to existing data
Work to extend our datasets
Understand, analyze and model the repercussions of legislation on the market
Support the quantitative analysts in translating regulation into quantitative data
Prepare your own analysis (forecasts, text and data visualization) and publish it on our client facing websiteKey skills
Studying at KIT relevant subject like business engineering, business informatics …
Good programming skills (Python)
Ability to work with databases
Understanding of economics and markets
Interest in plastics and plastics recycling markets and market modelling
Self-driven and well organized
Fluent in English, German and/or other languages is a plus
