Project description
The RISEnergy project aims to connect and improve services offered by research centers working on energy technologies across Europe and associated countries. These centers focus on areas such as solar power (PV and CSP/STE), hydrogen, biofuels, wind and ocean energy, energy storage, smart grids. One key goal of the project is to create shared services that help move renewable energy technologies from early research to real-world use faster. To do this, the project will compare different energy technologies using technical, economic, environmental, and social criteria. This helps to identify which solutions are most ready and suitable for future development and investment.
Tasks
- Collect and summarize information on renewable energy technologies.
- Review scientific and technical publications, project reports, and research infrastructure service offerings.
- Support the definition of technical, economic, environmental, and social indicators to assess different
technologies.
- Gather data related to the selected criteria for different technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree in environmental sciences, (industrial) engineering, or economics
- Basic understanding of renewable energy technologies
- Residence in Karlsruhe or within commuting distance.
- Master's students are welcome to apply, preferably those who are in the second year or beyond of their
studies.
Technical skills
- Experience with literature review and information synthesis from scientific and technical sources.
- Proficiency in Excel
- Knowledge in other data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB) is a plus.
Interdisciplinary skills
- Proactive attitude and attention to detail.
- Results-oriented way of working.
- Goof communication skills
