Who are we?
The French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis (ISL), located in the tri-border region of France, Germany and Switzerland, is an internationally recognized research centre and part of a global science, technology and industry network. Our core activities range from basic to applied research in a variety of security and defence topics. Increasingly, our research findings are also used for civilian applications. ISL devotes special attention to civilian security and protection against terrorist threats both at home and during Special Forces missions abroad.
